Monitoring student
progress is an on-going part of the WCS educational program. While the
data on this web-site speaks to academic testing data, it is not the
only information that should be obtained to determine students’/schools
successes. Other data like student’s attendance records, motivation
level, engagement and interest levels, social skills, classroom
participation, etc. also help to give us a more complete picture of how
a student/ school is performing and helps us to systemically evaluate
progress towards set goals.
Data listed on this
web-site provides us information about what students know and can do in
relation to the standards that the state department has determined
students should meet. The data also indicates how students perform in
relation to other students on a national level. Finally, data on this
web-site shows levels of proficiency. Proficiency data is important
because it indicates how our students are performing and meeting the
requirements set out by NCLB.
