School History Kenrose Elementary
School is a public elementary school surrounded by
neighborhoods in Brentwood, Tennessee. The land on
which Kenrose was built was sold by the Kennon family for
the sole purpose of building an elementary school.
Thus the name Kenrose was chosen to honor Emmett Kennon's
wife, Rose, and the Kennon family. Kenrose opened in
the fall of 1999 and serves grades PreK – 5. Our
mission at Kenrose is to educate students for lifelong
learning, embrace students’ cultural and learning
differences, and equip students to become responsible
citizens.
Before/After School Care
The Williamson County School’s SACC
program has been around for over fifteen years. Over the
years the program has continually expanded to meet the needs
of the children. The SACC program is a year round program
planned and conducted by staff trained to be positive role
models for the children. The programs which SACC has
offered in years past include karate, dance, cheerleading,
art, computer, drama, drums, guitar and Spanish. The
programming each year is adjusted to address the interests
of the children enrolled in the program. There are many
enrollment options available from full time before and after
school care to drop in. Drop in helps parents who may need
occasional SACC services. The hours for SACC are 6:30 a.m.
to 6:00 p.m., and it is open most administrative days,
holidays, and snow days. SACC has built an excellent
reputation for its exciting and fun filled summer programs.
SACC is open the first day of school to students in grades 1
– 5 and to kindergarten students the first full day for
kindergarten classes.

fall and spring. Please contact your
child's teacher for additional conferences if
needed.
Parent Support Organization
Kenrose Elementary has a
very supportive and active PTO.
Approximately 70% of the school’s families are
members. Major fundraisers include the
annual “Build the Nest” donation drive, Family
Fun Night dinner and silent auction, and Fun
Run. The PTO funds the guided reading
room, the character education program, the
computer lab technician, and purchases of new
computers and technology related materials.
They also provide teachers with materials and
supplies for their classroom. The Kenrose
PTO also works hard to organize and implement
community outreach projects such as a clothing
drive for less fortunate students of a nearby
school and a blood drive two times per year.
Kenrose families are actively involved in
supporting their school. On any given day
at Kenrose, you will find countless numbers of
parents, grandparents, and community members
volunteering in many different capacities around
the school.
