Background Checks Are The Law In Tennessee:
Beginning January 1, 2000, state law requires all persons we are hiring to complete a TBI background check. This new state requirement means that we will be fingerprinting you when you are hired. Hiring will be contingent upon positive background checks.

Procedures for Criminal Background Check

Do you have questions?  Before calling take the time to read the teacher letter at above so you will know the following information:

  • Hiring procedures for Williamson County Schools
  • How to obtain your Tennessee Teachers License (if you do not have one)
  • Necessary documents required that you need to mail in after you submit the teacher application.  Include a copy of your Praxis scores, or NTE scores with your documents (Complete the application online and click submit key at bottom of application) please do not print and mail the application.

Experience Verification Form: You must provide a copy with your documents mailed to Williamson County Schools.  (This form will be included in your packet from the Tennessee Department of Education when you request the teacher packet).
